Sewage pumping stations and their equipment
Purpose
Surface aerator is a device that introduces oxygen into sewage, a process that is essential for developing biomass in a bioreactor. The device provides appropriate intensity of aeration and mixing to ensure even distribution of flocculated waste that is suspended in the tank and eliciting circulatory movement of the fluid. Ekowater’s surface aerators are used in both municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants, including dairy industry.
Operating principle
Ekowater’s horizontal aerators, which constitute a part of bioreactors are responsible for creating circulatory motion and oxygenating sewage as a part of the wastewater treatment. Depending on the type of the bioreactor, aerators may be installed on their individual supporting structures, for example integrated steel platform, or under concrete bridges as a part of oxidation ditches. Spray suppression hoods placed above aerators, eliminate noise and prevent unpleasant odors from being spread. It is a good solution especially during winter, because even in long periods of low temperature key elements of aerating system do not freeze.
Efficiency of the aeration is regulated by the depth of mobile turbines and their rotational speed. The depth of turbines is adjusted by the controlled inflow that changes the level of fluid inside the chamber, and an oxygen probe installed inside the bioreactor that controls the rotation of the aerator.
